As you know, the Hanil General Hospital is the only general hospital in Dobong District that boasts 81 years of history and tradition. It currently has 500 patient beds and operates 23 clinical departments with excellent medical teams, medical technologies, and state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.

The Hanil General Hospital was designated as the only 'regional emergency medical center' in the Dobong and Gangbuk areas and thus specialists in emergency medicine treat patients 24 hours a day. According to surveys by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Hanil General Hospital received high assessment year after year. These assessment results include 2nd place among emergency medical centers in Seoul in 2002, 1st place in the Seoul region in the general sector category in 2003, and successive designation as the best regional emergency medical center for since 2008.

The Hanil General Hospital has established the best dedicated burn treatment center in Korea and provides the best treatment in this field through close cooperation with various hospital departments including surgery, emergency medicine, orthopedics and plastic surgery.

Recently, the department of obstetrics and gynecology of the Hanil General Hospital was given the highest grade through the 'Caesarotomy Appropriateness Assessment' conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service. The rehabilitation center has acquired the ‘Certification of a Medical Institution Specialized in Rehabilitation Covered by Occupational Health and Safety Insurance' from the certification committee for medical institutions specialized in rehabilitation.

The Hanil General Hospital under the KEPCO Foundation for Healthcare has taken a powerful step toward new changes under the implementation of its core objective Hanil General Hospital - Working Together With Its Neighbors To Create a Better Tomorrow’ while reminding us once again that the greatest service to regional residents is providing the best possible medical care.

The Hanil General Hospital is making efforts to provide pleasant and comfortable treatment environments to visiting patients through continuous facility improvements including the remodeling of existing outpatient clinics.

In addition to providing healthcare services that are practical and necessary for regional residents, the Hanil General Hospital surveyed prevalence rates of residents in Dobong & Gangbuk regions. As a result the hospital established a rehabilitation center, a cardiovascular center, a diabetes clinic, a digestive organ center and a health promotion center thereby making intensive investments in those healthcare services that are of higher priority for regional residents.

The Hanil General Hospital is replacing various kinds of surgical instruments and diagnostic equipment with the newest models introduced every year. Our magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment was replaced with the newest model in 2007, the 128 channel multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) equipment was introduced in 2010 and many other new medical devices will be additionally introduced in this year as well.

These changes are being made as part of the modernization of the Hanil General Hospital. By now, the Hanil General Hospital has already implemented external specialized consulting focused on plans to modernize the hospital through rapid expansion. Through this extension of services, we aim to provide the best medical services to the Dobong and Gangbuk areas which are lacking in top-of-the-line medical services. Beginning with the introduction of an EMR system which will be completed by the end of this year, Hanil General Hospital will be able to provide the best modern medical services within a short time.

In 2016, the Hanil General Hospital is making changes in order to faithfully play the role of a hospital that grows together with its patients. Based on its long history of 81 years, the Hanil General Hospital is now able to provide a greater step in healthcare with its patients in mind.
