Specialists in hemato-oncology have received expert education in internal medicine to specially diagnose and treat various kinds of cancers and blood diseases, and conduct related studies and education. The division of hematology is in charge of the diagnosis and treatment of various kinds of anemia, blood tumors such as hemophilia, platelet disorders, and hemostatic disorders.

The division of oncology is specially in-charge of internal medicinal treatment of various kinds of cancers such as stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, hepatoma, breast cancer, craniocervical cancer, pancreatic cancer, biliary tract cancer, urinary organ cancer, brain tumor and gynecologic cancer. The division of hemato-oncology also establishes policies to diagnose and treat these diseases and cooperates with relevant divisions of surgery when surgical treatment is necessary and with the division of radiology treatment at the Kyung Hee University Hospital when radiation therapy is needed.

When anticancer chemotherapy is necessary, this division is able to provide that particular treatment. This division is making every effort to completely cure cancer to extend patients' lives as well as relieve related symptoms. The division minimizes side effects of anticancer chemotherapy and relieves symptoms resulting from cancer thereby helping patients to enjoy their lives with minimized pain. Recently, the division utilizes many adjuvant therapy agents such as antiemetic drugs and analgesics, in addition to anticancer drugs to relieve symptoms.
