The Department of Plastic Surgery is a clinical department that improves the form and function of the human body from head to toe. Major surgeries performed by this department include reconstruction and cosmetic surgeries. For example, patients may opt for more desirable faces and bodies through cosmetic surgery choices. Likewise, reconstruction surgeries for burn victims provide healing of both physical and emotional injuries. Plastic surgery of congenital malformations and tumor removal sites seek to recover the body’s natural form and correct any functional defects.

Through active treatment activities and services to the community, the plastic surgery department at the HanilGeneral Hospital has become highly experienced in the field and on-par with other similar veteran clinical departments. This department has been accomplishing prominent treatment records in the areas of not only cosmetic surgery but also reconstruction surgery. In particular, treatment in the areas of general burns and electric burns has progressed so much so in the area of reconstruction surgery that this department has been established as the central medical hub for Korea and the international medical community.

As a hospital specialized in burn treatments, this department has greatly contributed to the healthcare of the community and continues to work together with the Department of General Surgery and the Department of Orthopedics.
