PET/CT Center

PET/CT is an imaging technology combining positron emission tomography (PET) and computed tomography (CT). By intravenously injecting a radioactive drug (FDG) that releases positrons and evenly spreads throughout the patient’s body, this technology is able to diagnose cancer early on based on biochemical changes due to diseases and anatomical images.

Although PET/CT is showing promising performance in early stage cancer diagnoses, it also has a disadvantage with its ability to diagnose stomach cancer, bladder cancer and prostate cancer. Therefore, it is desirable to undergo PET/CT together with comprehensive medical testing including diagnostic endoscopic procedures of the gastrointestinal tract rather than solely undergoing PET/CT.
