For Emergency

Reception

  • As with outpatient clinics, the Emergency Medical Center treats patients on a first come, first serve basis.
*However, patients in critical conditions may be given priority in treatment. Your understanding and patience is highly appreciated.

Physical Examination & Testing

  • Specialists in emergency medicine and on-duty doctors working in the emergency medical center are available to treat patients 24 hours a day, all year round.
  • Depending on the symptoms exhibited by patients, x-rays, blood tests, and/or electrocardiogram tests may be conducted
  • Examinations may take 1 to1.5 hours. If there are many patients in line, examination wait times may increase by up to 40 minutes.
  • Depending on the results of your examination, a doctor from the appropriate department will be assigned to you in order to provide the most effective treatment. For instance, a doctor from the department of internal medicine will be dispatched in the case of an internal disease or a doctor from the department of urology in the case of a urological disease.

Hospitalization/Patient Discharge

  • After being examined by the doctor responsible for your care, a decision will be made on whether you require hospitalization. If recommended for additional in-hospital treatment, you will be guided on additional patient check-in procedures. In the case of hospitalization being deemed unnecessary, you may proceed with the patient discharge process and return home.

Payment and Pharmacy Information

  • Whether you choose to go through the recommended hospitalization process or return home, the nurse’s station will call your protector or guardian.
  • When discharged you may be required to submit the receipt that you received after paying your medical expenses to the ward pharmacy, where your necessary medical prescription will be issued.
Between the hours of 10:00 PM and 06:00 AM, the pharmacy may be closed. In the situation where you require a prescription to be filled during these non-operating hours, the hospital may provide the necessary medication. To qualify for this exception, your condition or disease will need to be listed under the approved list of emergency diseases specified by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
